AK9 Trainer to host all-day seminar in Homer on reactive dogs

This looks like a fascinating seminar on reactive dogs, designed for anyone who works with such dogs and the public, and even for owners of reactive dogs. Here are the details. Be sure to check out the attached PDFs for additional information

Who: AK9 Trainer; presented by Ali Brown, a behavior expert and author who works with reactive, fearful and aggressive dogs.

What: "Scaredy Dog! Seminar: Understanding and Rehabilitating your Reactive Dog," based on Ali Brown's book of the same name. Eight-hour seminar addresses the concept of reactivity and teaches trainers and dog-training clubs how to run classes for reactive dogs. The seminar is also informative and supportive for owners of reactive dogs and is called a "must" for dog rescue workers, shelter staff and anyone else who works with dogs and the public.

10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Teach skills necessary for participation in a reactive dog class -- why use a clicker, targeting, focus, car behavior, tricks. Describe class structure. Show DVD containing footage of classes

12:15-1:15 p.m. Break for lunch

1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. - Reactive class, session 1

2:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. Reactive class, session 2

3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Discuss class structure
