It's just my opinion, but I think Mayor Dan Sullivan bit off just a little more that he can chew by trying to take on the unions. I think he would have been a little more successful by being a little more diplomatic when dealing with the negotiations, but he was determined to let it be known that it was "my way or the highway," and I think that offended a lot of people, including me.
He and his "yes man" Ernie Hall didn't make a lot of points with union members or average citizens. I would think being a mayor of the largest city in Alaska, that he would understand being a mayor is synonymous with being a diplomat. If he plans on staying in politics, I hope this sends a message to him that "my way or the highway" just doesn't cut it, especially when you're trying to work your way up the chain of command.
