Yale undoubtedly deserved to beat UMass-Lowell today in the first of two Frozen Four semifinals, but it still took the Ivy Leaguers overtime to get the job done.

Andrew Miller's strike 6:59 in OT earned Yale a 3-2 victory in Pittsburgh, where it will on Saturday face the winner of today's late semifinal between St. Cloud State and Quinnipiac.

Yale outshot Lowell 47-18, including 7-0 in OT and 23-3 in the third period and OT.

Lowell goaltender Connor Hellebuyck did his job -- 44 saves.

Yale scored two first-period goals and was dominating play until Lowell struck for two goals in a 14-second span late in the second period.
