New chairman to lead World Trade Center Alaska board

The Board of Directors of the World Trade Center Alaska is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory Galik to the position of Board Chairman. Galik's appointment follows the resignation and completion of term by past Board Chairman, Rick Pollock.

Galik is a veteran of the World Trade Center Alaska (WTCAK) Board of Directors, having originally joined the organization in 2001. His business, Alaska Brands Group, is an exporter of Glacial Water to markets in North America, Asia and Europe.

Galik is a true Alaskan, who grew up on homesteads in McGrath and Fairbanks, Alaska. He is a graduate of Alaska Pacific University, with a Bachelors degree in Business & Marketing. He is a recent University of Alaska Alumni of the Year Award holder in Entrepreneurship and Business.

His work career is creative and varied, with a start as an airline executive. He transitioned early on to entrepreneurial activities, building businesses as varied as Premium Fishing Lodge, Strategist and Consultant, and then owning for 30 years his own successful enterprise, Aadland Marketing Group.

In his role as Board Chairman, Galik will be leading an organization committed to assisting Alaska businesses in all aspects of successful exporting and trade. He believes that his expertise and that of the many members of WTCAK currently engaged in export activity can be the key to support continued export growth for the State of Alaska.

Galik commented: "I am thrilled at the challenge and appreciative of the support WTCAK has received from Governor Parnell and his office of Community and Economic Development. We collaborate closely with our founding member, the University of Alaska, and the U.S. Department of Commerce to deliver programs year-round, and we are now looking at further expansion. I wish to express thanks and a great appreciation for the task ahead."
