Nice night for former UAF goaltender Chad Johnson, even though he didn't get a W -- Johnson stopped 29 of 30 shots in regulation and overtime for the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes in a 2-1 shootout loss at St. Louis.
Johnson in limited duty has put up nice numbers for the Coyotes this season -- he's 2-0-2 with a 1.21 goals-against average, .954 save percentage and one shutout.
In other news, former Alaska Aces and UAF forward Cam Keith has signed for a third season with Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the German second division, according to eliteprospects.com
That site also reports former Aces goaltender Jean-Philippe Lamoureux has signed for another season with Villacher Sv in Austria.
Also, former UAF goalie Scott Greenham, who spent most of the season with ECHL Bakersfield, has signed a tryout deal with AHL Binghamton, which gives the Senators two Alaska-connected goalies. The other is former UAA standout Nathan Lawson.
