'Wild Thing'

Chilkoot Charlie's is celebrating 43 years in Spenard, and though Koot's got its start in the '70s, the club is marking the occasion with an '80s-themed party. MC of the festivities is rapper Tone Loc, whose hits "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" ruled the tail end of that decade. 9 p.m. Friday, $13 (21 and older). Visit for info.

Singer and guitarist Jerry Joseph has been at it for more than 30 years, and last year's double album, "Happy Book," with his band the Jackmormons covers a large swath of rock 'n' roll history.
