Man, I've seen so much anger and hate in the letters against lowering the tax rates for the oil companies. Doesn't anyone remember the newscast a couple of years ago where a representative spoke to Alaska saying that we were the most expensive place on the planet to drill for oil and unless things changed they would take their business elsewhere, and then they did!
I thought at the time, wow, they really have us over a barrel (pun intended).
Now, I won't pretend for a minute that I have enough knowledge to take either side, but if we really were the most expensive place on the planet then they have us there. Since it's all about money for them of course they looked to other countries for business.
And things have been pretty stagnant for us.
