Letter: In the end, state income tax might well make appearance

Who knew Sean Parnell and his supporters were not only friends of the oil companies but also closet liberals?

The bold plan to cut oil taxes means that future budget deficits will have to be closed with alternate sources of revenue. We cannot tax oil companies because they suffer too much already, sales taxes are already in place in many communities, and ditto on property taxes.

What other taxes could fill the void? Mining contributes squat and any proposal to increase taxes might end the Pebble venture. The governor and his sneaky liberal allies will soon be forced by fiscal reality to raise the dreaded state income tax from it's 20th century grave! Well played, sirs, well played.
