WEST MARINE DOUBLES THE SIZE OF ITS ANCHORAGE STORE
CUSTOMERS INVITED TO A GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (April 22, 2013) - West Marine announced the grand opening celebration for its huge store expansion in Anchorage, Alaska. On Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19, the boating supply and accessory store, located at 8401 Dimond D Circle in Anchorage (on the corner of Dimond Boulevard and Dimond D Circle) will have grand opening events, give-aways and blockbuster deals from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Responding to the needs of local boaters and anglers, this renovated and enlarged West Marine store will contain 15,000 square feet of boating and fishing products. The new "Bait Shack" will carry a broad selection of saltwater fishing gear, specifically selected for Alaska. The latest marine electronics will be on display, with expanded assortments in every category throughout the store. An engine parts counter will be staffed by specialists, and the store will have a huge assortment of inflatable boats and kayaks, plus footwear and casual and technical apparel.
In addition to having top fishing and boating experts on staff, there will be a Port Supply Hub managed by Damien Fyre. Port Supply is one of the largest wholesale distributors of marine equipment serving boating businesses and government agencies. The Hub will offer timely delivery of a broad selection of marine accessories and products at attractive pricing for Alaska-area boating and fishing businesses.
Store Manager Mark Fox is a lifelong Alaskan and has been actively fishing and boating around Whittier, Seward and Homer for over 43 years. There will be 11 associates at this West Marine (depending on the season) and between them they have over 200 years and 5,000 nautical miles combined experience on the water.
