Northwest Strategies Promotes Amber Lee to Director of Advertising

Northwest Strategies (NWS), Alaska's largest advertising and public relations agency, has promoted Amber Lee to Director of Advertising. In this position, Lee is responsible for advertising strategy on behalf of the dozens of accounts in the NWS portfolio. She will also continue to directly supervise several accounts, including Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC), Era Alaska, Verizon Wireless and Cook Inlet Housing Authority.

Lee has managed the rebranding of Era Alaska, developing an award-winning multi-media campaign and enhanced its Facebook page, which has doubled its fan base to 13,000 in less than a year. These efforts have helped the airline increase passenger traffic and become an increasingly relevant part of the community in many of the airline's rural markets.

Since joining NWS, Lee managed the redesign of AHFC's website and guided AHFC to several Alaska Public Relations Society of America Awards including "Best Marketing for Alaska." She also helped Cook Inlet Housing Authority win Film and Video Production Telly Awards for work on the Loussac Place affordable housing development.

NWS President Tiffany Tutiakoff said, "Our agency has seen 40 percent growth in business over the past two-and-a-half years, and we increased our staff from 18 to 26. This promotion reflects our desire to take care of the marketing needs of every single client, large or small, and to continue to develop our team of account services professionals in the fast-changing world of advertising. Amber has the perfect blend of experience and creativity for this role."

Lee has nearly two decades of experience in communications, advertising and marketing, spending the bulk of her career in telecommunications marketing as a marketing manager at Alaska Communications, and as Director of Marketing at GCI. Some of her most notable accomplishments include the multi-faceted, non-traditional launch of Android for Alaska Communications in 2010, a strategic shift in messaging and product that created exponential growth in smartphone data sales for GCI, increasing their overall wireless average revenue per user and she was a member of the team that successfully acquired and launched the iPhone for GCI.

Lee has worked for newspapers, nonprofits and as a campaign manager and staffer at the Alaska State Legislature. She has an undergraduate degree in communications and a master's degree in nonfiction creative writing.

Lee started with Northwest Strategies in May of 2012.
