R&M Adds to Anchorage Office Staff

R&M CONSULTANTS, INC. (R&M) is pleased to announce the addition of four staff members to our Anchorage office team:

Janek Wierzbicki, PE joined R&M's Surface Transportation Group as a Project Engineer in November 2012. Originally from Alaska, Janek recently relocated back to Anchorage from Toronto, Canada. He has more than nine years of experience in civil engineering. Janek has provided engineering design services and developed construction documents for transportation, transit/rail, aviation and site development projects across the United States. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and is currently working on his M.S. in Civil Engineering. He is a professional civil engineer registered in Alaska and Utah.

John Daley, PE joined R&M in January 2013 as a Senior Project Engineer in our Waterfront Engineering Group. John has 20 years of experience in project management, engineering design, construction, and inspection. He has managed and participated in a wide variety of civil and waterfront projects including roadways, water and wastewater pipelines, docks, harbors, and breakwaters. Since joining R&M, John has worked on several port and harbor projects, including Seward D Float Harbor, Homer Port System 5 Improvements and Kodiak Ferry Terminal and Dock Improvements. John holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering (Coastal and Marine) and a B.S in Civil Engineering from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is a professional engineer registered in Alaska and Washington.

Abe Schmidt joined R&M in January 2013 as a Geologist in our Earth Sciences Department. Abe's previous experience includes geological, botanical, and ecological research, as well as mining operations inspections. Prior to joining R&M, he spent several summers as an intern for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, where he conducted trail work, restoration projects, and other field projects. Since joining R&M, Abe has worked on the Bethel Youth Facility and DOT&PF Statewide Materials Site Inventory, Site Inspections and Geological Investigations. He holds a joint B.S in Geosciences from University of Montana/University of College Cork.

Former R&M employee Marc Frutiger, PE moved back to Alaska and rejoined R&M as a Project Engineer in our Surface Transportation Group in February 2013, after working abroad for a few years. Marc has eight years of experience in civil engineering. He has worked on surface transportation and utility projects in Alaska, Wyoming, and Switzerland. His experience includes design and management, supervising project teams, field engineering, public involvement, and overseeing construction progress. Marc has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He is a professional civil engineer registered in Alaska and Wyoming.
