Letter: Kincaid is not a quiet refuge

Responding to Julie Houle's letter regarding the dirt bike track at Kincaid:

It doesn't matter where these motorized activities are located — folks are going to complain. Maybe we should move the airport so huge jets don't fly overhead. I have been to Kincaid many times and the dogs are everywhere barking and dropping piles. The point is she chose to live and play in the largest city in Alaska and noise comes with that choice.

Cram 300,000 people in and there are going to be things that people need to tolerate. These things are part of our society. Some folks may like the sound of a dirt bike or snowmobile. There are plenty of beautiful places in the Anchorage Bowl that offer quiet surroundings. Maybe Julie should look elsewhere for silence.
