Northwest Strategies Wins Twelve

National Telly Awards for Advertising Excellence

Anchorage, ALASKA—May 1, 2013Northwest Strategies (NWS), a full-service advertising and public relations firm, won 12 Telly Awards for video and television production on behalf of Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA), Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC), State of Alaska Tobacco Prevention and Control Program (SOA TPC), Era Alaska and Alaska Regional Hospital.

"Loussac Place Grand Opening," a 2:16 minute video produced for CIHA and AHFC, is about Loussac Place, a new public housing project in mid-town Anchorage. "A Place to Heal," a 4:32 minute piece, tells the story of Anchorage resident Rebecca Lupie and her three boys who moved into the Loussac development and not only found a place to live, but a safe neighborhood and community. Both videos won bronze awards.

"The Real Cost" campaign produced for SOA TPC, was awarded four bronze Tellys in total. The Real Cost is a social marketing campaign that educates the public on the high cost of tobacco to all Alaskans, regardless of smoking status. The campaign won one bronze award, and the individual 30-second TV spots "Dream Scene" and "Lost Productivity," won three additional awards in the cause marketing and non-for-profit local TV categories.

Era Alaska won two bronze awards for travel/tourism local and regional TV commercials for their 30-second "Bringing Alaskans Together" brand image campaign. They also received a bronze People's Telly award. People's Telly Award entries are posted to the Telly Awards YouTube channel for a period of four weeks. During that time, the public online community views and rates videos in an effort to determine winners.

Alaska Regional Hospital won a silver and bronze award for each of the two 30-second TV spots in its "Dem Bones" campaign promoting the hospital's No.1-ranked orthopedics department. It also won another bronze award for best videography and cinematography used in those TV spots, competing against hospitals with more than 200 beds.
