An ongoing investigation into bulk marijuana shipments to Western Alaska villages led troopers to search a Wasilla man's home early Friday morning.

Gregory J. Tovsen, 51, was charged with three felony drug charges and one felony count of tampering with evidence after troopers say they found more than 10 pounds of marijuana at his Sands Drive home.

The search began at 3:45 a.m. with the help of a drug-finding dog, Chevron, according to a trooper report posted online.

Troopers also seized grow equipment, a scale, packaging materials and an industrial-size diesel generator.

Troopers did not give the street address of the search. Public records show Tovsen has lived at a home on the 1300 block of Sands Drive since 1995.

He appeared in court Friday in Palmer, court records show.

The Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team aided in the search, troopers said.
