On the move
Singer-songwriter Marian Call calls Juneau home these days, but you'll probably only find her there between excursions like last year's fan-funded European tour, which spawned her "Live in Europe" album (mariancall.bandcamp.com). She sets out on a Lower 48 tour next month, but not before she plays 7:30 p.m. Friday at the new Anchorage City Limits (239 W. Fourth Ave.) with Seth Boyer, $10.
Two-wheel commute
Friday is Bike to Work Day across the country, including Anchorage. More than 4,000 cyclists were counted at key intersections during last year's event, and treat stations will once again be set up across town this year in places like Westchester Lagoon, Cuddy Park and Chester Creek Trail. Singin' siblin's
The Bellamy Brothers, the country-pop duo responsible for '70s smash hits like "Let Your Love Flow" and "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me," takes the stage at Egan Center on Saturday. The show starts 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $36, available through Ticketmaster. The pair travels north on Saturday, playing the Carlson Center in Fairbanks at 7 p.m. Tickets for that show are $37.50. Sooth the soul
The brainchild of Whipsaws guitarist Aaron Benolkin, Fat City Revival pays homage to classic soul and features members of Rebel Blues, The Photons, Sweating Honey, Superfrequency and Nervis Rex, with Melissa Mitchell, Nellie Clay and Cole Ouellette on vocals. The ensemble's Rock 'n' Soul Revue takes place at Tap Root on Friday and Saturday, 9 p.m., with Kima the DJ spinning classic soul records on into the night. Tickets are $15 (21 and older).
