Rockford Corp. wins contract for MEA's Eklutna Project

Anchorage, Alaska (May 14, 2013) – Matanuska Electric Corporation (MEA) recently awarded to Rockford Corporation its Eklutna Generation Station Tank Project – a project value of $2.1 million, Rockford General Manager Steve Schoeni announced recently. This project consists of the design and construction of two 500,000 gallon fuel oil storage tanks, and one 365,000 gallon fire water tank at MEA's new power generation station located in Eklutna, Alaska. The project is to begin late August 2013, and will be completed by May 2014.

The project will provide local employment opportunities for Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation shareholders. Rockford Corporation is one of five construction companies of the holding company UIC Construction Services (UICCS) which includes Kautaq Construction, LLC; SIKU Construction; UIC Construction, LLC; and UIC First Nations Construction Services, LLC. Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation is the Alaska Native village corporation of Barrow, Alaska.
