Letter: No cashing in on Memorial Day

Shame! Shame! Shame! On every business that has a sale this weekend.

This is Memorial Day weekend, reserved for all Americans to stop and be thankful for what we have because of the men and women who gave their lives in the call of military service. It is not a weekend for businesses to profit on those lives. Who are these businesses? I don't need to list them, because you will see and hear their newspaper, television and radio ads.

To my fellow veterans, to the men and women now serving, and to everyone else let's show these businesses that Memorial Day is a day for remembrance, not a day to line their pockets. This weekend avoid, boycott if you will, businesses, large and small that advertise Memorial Day sales. Empty stores will give these greedy companies a clear message
