In response to Rep. Gara's letter on Tuesday, if all of the other states and countries would not allow the oil companies to invest any of their profits outside of their state or country, there would have been no North Slope oil ever discovered.
Regarding his reference to the Democrats and Sens. Stedman and Stevens attempting tax reform, refer back to 2012. What did they accomplish? Absolutely nothing.
One of Sen. Stedman's most noted accomplishments was spending over $800 per night on a hotel suite in Hawaii. Just the type of individual you want watching over the state of Alaska's government money.
