Dancing at the International
The International Gallery of Contemporary Art, 427 D St., celebrates First Friday with a dance collaboration. Enzina Marrari's "Of Love" show in the main gallery will include a performance by the Momentum Dance Company and assorted performance artists including former Out North director Scott Turner Schofield, just back from Paris, along with photos by Michael Conti. Elsewhere in the gallery you'll find Dave Swensen's "The Rising Tide," described as "an examination of monogamy through digital and still media." The performance is only at the reception Friday night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibits will remain up through June 29.
In a free workshop with the intriguing title of "Writing Dirty," San Francisco-based author and writing coach Sinclair Smith will show participants the tricks of "creating successful erotica, editing and submitting work for publication and taking blogs to the erotic level." Sinclair's work includes the "Sugarbutch Chronicles" online project. The workshop will take place 7 p.m. Thursday at Out North, 3800 DeBarr Road. It's recommended for aspiring authors age 18 and over.
