Alaska Baseball League report for Wednesday, June 12

In the Alaska Baseball League's only league game Wednesday, the Anchorage Bucs crushed the Fairbanks Goldpanners 9-1 behind three hits from Andy Crowley at Mulcahy Stadium.

The Bucs scored three in the first and two more in the second inning to back starter Austin Stone with a 5-0 lead. Stone pitched five scoreless innings for a win, striking out three and walking four. Don Andre Clark and Anthony Gonsolin each drove in two runs for the Bucs, with Crowley and Clark each scoring twice.

Chance Abrath scored the Goldpanners' only run in the seventh inning.

In non-league action, the Peninsula Oilers knocked off the visiting San Francisco Seals 7-1 at Coral Seymour Memorial Park, and the Mat-Su Miners played the Chugiak to a 2-2 tie Hermon Brothers Field.

The Oilers, paced by two hits apiece from Andre Mercurio and Noah Holmes, held a 5-1 lead after three innings and cruised to a win. Mike Wieland led the Oilers with three RBIs.

The Miners jumped ahead early on third-inning RBIs from A.J. Simcox and Christin Stewart, but Chugiak evened the score with runs in the fifth and the ninth innings.

Daniel Arthur came up with three hits and drove in a run for the Chinooks, who also got an RBI from Stephen Ventimillia.
