Police seek public's help in Midtown shooting

Anchorage police are looking for help from the public in catching the person who shot a man earlier this month outside the Office Cocktail Lounge in Midtown.

A fight inside the club on East Northern Lights Boulevard led to some people getting kicked out, just before 2 a.m. June 2, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. Club security, who were still dealing with the disturbance outside, heard gunshots and called 911, Myren said.

Officers found a man shot in the leg on nearby Fairbanks Street, and medics rushed him to a hospital in critical condition, Myren said. His name has not been released.

On Tuesday, Myren sent a written statement to reporters saying detectives are still investigating and need help.

"Detectives believe there may be additional photos or video captured by witnesses to this incident," Myren said.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call police at 786-8900 or, to remain anonymous, to deliver tips via Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP or www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
