Letter: A clarification about setnetters

Re: "Sportfishing nets short shrift" (Letters, June 20, by Rod Jones).

A point of clarification: Cook Inlet setnetters have not fished the early run Kenai king salmon since 1978 as part of the original Cook Inlet Management Plan. They did however, at one time, fish for the now plentiful sockeyes that have returned to the Russian River.

Other aspects of the are tantamount to more mendacious nonsense on fish, shrifts, and history.
