Letter: Put all marriages under civil union

Marriage is defined in the dictionary as a state of being married. Married is defined as joining a husband and wife, or to take a husband or wife. Husband is defined as a man married to a woman. Wife is defined as a woman married to a man. If the laws need be changed and stature given to a same-sex relationship by civil authority, let the relationship be named a civil union. The rights the partners would seek should be spelled out by law and any adopted children would have parents, not mother and father. Any benefits that married couples have could also be given participants in the civil union.

Because any generation, younger or whatever, thinks that changes in existing laws should be made doesn't mean those changes must be made. For instance if a majority of people think bank robbery should be legal, should that crime be made legal?
