Bucs 10, Panners 0

The Anchorage Bucs are in sole possession of first place thanks to Thursday's 10-0 thumping of the Fairbanks Goldpanners in Fairbanks.

Michael Strentz homered for the fifth time this season, David Andriese slugged a two-run triple and Chase Compton drove in three runs for the Bucs.

The Bucs outhit Fairbanks 13-6 and got hits from seven players.

Pitcher Kenny Smith scattered five hits and struck out three over six innings for the victory.

Chinooks 17, Pilots 2

Chugiak took out a season's worth of frustration on the Pilots, pounding out 19 hits in a 17-2 romp at Mulcahy Stadium. The Chinooks were 1-11 coming into the game.

Griffin Gum drove in four runs, accounting for two of them with a home run. He was one of nine Chugiak players who scored a run and one of eight who collected hits.

Right-hander Mike Jeffreys, who got the win, threw eight shutout innings before getting chased in the ninth after giving up a hit and a walk.

Oilers 3, Miners 1

Back-to-back hits by Noah Holmes and Kyle Hunt lifted the Peninsula Oilers past the Mat-Su Miners 3-1 in 11 innings Thursday in Palmer.

Holmes stroked a double to score Mike Wieland, who led off with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Hunt followed with a single that drove in Holmes.

The Miners put their leadoff batter on base in the bottom of the inning but went down in order after that.
