Letter: Sentences send poor message

I am totally disgusted with the sentences handed down to the men charged with the death of Desirae Douglas. All they receive is 30 months; this is ludicrous. Let's send a message that the state of Alaska doesn't punish violent offenders responsible for a young girl's tragic death. Do you think these "men" feel remorse for their actions? The picture of one of them smiling in court makes me sick. The prosecution that made the deal and the judge that handed down the sentence should be ashamed of themselves, as I am ashamed of our justice system.
