The "one hour" Alaska Airlines delay for a computer glitch Friday was closer to 1.5 hours and no one was allowed off the plane in Kotzebue. Seems like the airlines would be able to hand-calculate loads and balances instead of having to wait for the sacred computer to come online.
The airline gets poor marks for their "back-up" procedures. How about trusting the pilots with a hand calculator?
