Winger Joey Crabb of Anchorage, who played in three different pro leagues last season, including the NHL, has signed a two-year, $1.2 million deal with the NHL's Florida Panthers.

Crabb was one of a slew of signings on the first day unrestricted free agents could cut new deals. His new gig is a one-way deal, which means he gets his $600,000 annual salary whether he is in the NHL or AHL.

Crabb, 30, began last season with his hometown Alaska Aces of the ECHL during the NHL lockout. He racked 17-21--38 totals in 35 games.

Once the lockout ended, he moved on to the NHL's Washington Capitals, where he scored two goals in 26 games before being assigned the AHL's Hershey Bears.

In Hershey, Crabb went 6-6--12 in 12 regular season games and scored five goals in five playoff games.

Crabb, who starred at Colorado College, has played 170 NHL games, with 20-32--52 totals.
