Pelkey joins Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association

Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association (APICDA) and APICDA Joint Ventures Inc., and APICDA Company, announce the hiring of Hugh Pelkey as Fleet Manager. He is responsible to manage the vessel fleet owned by APICDA Vessels Inc., and working with APICDA's partner vessel managers. Pelkey will supervise the APICDA Alaska Area Vessel Engineer and Port Engineer. His new role is effective June 24, 2013.

Pelkey transitions from his role as board director for both the APICDA and APICDA Joint Ventures Inc. companies, where he represented the community of Akutan. Pelkey is a fourth generation crab, salmon and longline commercial fisherman. His business enterprises include owning the F/V High Roller, owning and operating a commercial dive service, and ferrying pilots for the Alaska Marine Pilots Association to and from merchant vessels.

Pelkey serves as a director for the Akutan Corporation. He is a licensed Unangan (Aleut) Artist. He is of Aleut, Scottish and Finnish descent.
