Former UAA goaltender Kevin Reiter has been named the goaltending coach for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program.
Reiter played for the Seawolves from 2000-04, then racked seven seasons of pro hockey in the UHL, ECHL, CHL and IHL. He was the IHL Goalie of the Year in 2007-08, when he backstopped the Fort Wayne Komets to the Turner Cup. Reiter bagged eight shutouts in the regular season in that campaign.
Reiter, 31, has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach and goalie coach for a club in Italy. Last year, he was also a goalie consultant for the Italian national team at the World Championships.
He's spent a dozen years as head goalie instructor at a goalie school in his hometown of Pittsburgh.
For the national program, he'll plan and oversee goalies in practices and also scout the nation's top youth prospects.
