People Mover announces service changes

People Mover Publishes New Service Schedules

People Mover will implement a service change on Monday, August 19, 2013. Every year, People Mover reviews routes and schedules with considerations for safety, public comment, vehicular and pedestrian travel patterns, budget-related requirements and to ensure buses are operating efficiently and passenger needs are met.

Major changes in 2013 include: Route 8 will be realigned off Newell, Staedem Hill and Donna Drive, to travel on Boniface, Debarr and Turpin; service will be increased on Route 45 with five additional round trips between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to alleviate overcrowding and Route 75 will no longer pull into Tikahtnu Commons but will instead be served by bus stops at the intersection of Muldoon and Zuckert. All routes have minor schedule changes to reflect running times.

The 2013 Ride Guide will be available to download from www.peoplemover.org Friday, August 2. Printed Ride Guides will be available for purchase from Customer Service, on the bus and sales outlet locations by August 12.

People Mover maintains a fleet of 52 modern, comfortable, fully accessible, ADA compliant buses that travel over two million miles a year. Friendly, courteous and professional bus operators serve the greater Anchorage and Eagle River areas with 14 regular transit routes.
