Calling all Korean War vets

The Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 288, in association with the Department of Defense 60th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee would like to locate as many Korean War Veterans in Alaska by Labor Day (02 Sept 2013).

If they served during the Korean War Era - June 20, 1950, through July 1954, in Korea, its territorial waters or in direct support of the activities there from Japan or Stateside, they are invited to contact Commander Berkeley J. Ide.

Call Commander B.J. Ide of KWVA No. 288, at 907-274-3218; send a letter to PO Box 200142, Anchorage, AK 99520; or email KWVA-AK288@inbox.com with: Veterans name, rank, service, and unit, a current mailing address, and phone number (for verification purposes only).

Each Korean War veteran or their surviving spouse responding by Labor Day will receive a Commemorative Medal and personalized Certificate of Appreciation for the veterans service from the DOD by Veterans Day.

Most will receive a package in the mail, although Ide would like to be able to recognize many of these war veterans at local public ceremonies to be held in Juneau, Fairbanks, Wasilla, Anchorage and Soldotna).
