12-year-old Anchorage boy located, returned to parents

Police said 12-year-old Jose Raul Mena Nivar Jr., who ran away from his home in Anchorage on Friday, has been found. He was returned to his parents, police said Saturday.

Anchorage police are asking for the public's help in locating a 12-year-old boy who ran away from home on Friday.

Here's a statement issued by police Saturday morning:

Anchorage Police are asking for help from the public in locating 12 year-old runaway Jose Raul Mena Nivar, Jr. who was last seen at about 4:30 PM yesterday at the 1200 block of West Dimond.

According to his father, he and his son got into an altercation and Jose left the home, not wearing any shoes. Jose's family searched the Dimond area for several hours before calling police.

Jose is a Hispanic male, 5'5" tall, 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a yellow t-shirt, blue jeans, black socks with no shoes and possibly a baseball cap.
