The city task force created to examine how Anchorage's Assembly runs its public hearings is holding, you guessed it, a pair of public hearings.
The task force wants feedback from Anchorage residents about how they think the Assembly can tweak its hearing process, to ensure that citizens have a chance to weigh in on legislation. The task force sprung up after the contentious battle over the city's new labor ordinance last spring, when the Assembly made a controversial move to cut off testimony while people were still waiting to speak.
The two hearings will be at the Assembly chambers in the Loussac Library on September 3 and October 1, beginning at 6 p.m.
