A Fairbanks woman was arrested early Sunday in Anderson after assaulting two family members who were trying to keep her from driving drunk, the Alaska State Troopers said.
The woman, Cynthia Nelson, 27, also brandished a loaded pistol at campers at an RV park in Anderson, 75 miles southwest of Fairbanks on the Parks Highway, according to a written statement from the troopers.
The statement said Nelson had been drinking early on Sunday morning, then got angry at her friends when they stopped her from driving an ATV.
She then found keys to a truck, and drove it a nearby family member's house, where the two family members took the keys away, according to the troopers.
Nelson assaulted both of them, then walked back to the campsite, took a loaded pistol out of her camper, and "brandished it to other campers," the troopers said.
The other campers took the gun and held Nelson until the troopers arrived around 3 a.m. She was arrested on two counts of assault, DUI, and a weapons charge, troopers said.
