The Anchorage Fire Department has announced a graduation ceremony for its newest firefighters. The graduation is set for 6 p.m. Friday at the new AFD Training Center, 1150 Airport Heights Road, second floor.
The 11 firefighters were hired on July 22 and have been through a rigorous training program; they have completed their training and are ready to start their new careers.
The AFD invites the public to join the recruits for the graduation. The Training Center is located behind Fire Station 3 next to Merrill Field. There is ample parking behind the fire station.
