South 3, Service 0

Sparked by Holly Morehouse's 10 kills and seven blocks, South swept Service 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball match Friday at Service.

The Wolverines also got a boost from Elissa Esplin (16 digs) and Shelby Little (5 kills, 4 blocks).

Service was led by Alyssa Flynn (6 kills, 10 digs), Tayleigh Talmadge (6 kills, 3 blocks), Morgan Christie (7 kills, 4 blocks) and Monique Mojica (14 digs).

"It was a good, exciting match, and I thought our team played competitively," Service coach Bryan Stenehjem said.

Chugiak 3, East 0

Chugiak's Rachel Gregg made contributions all over the court Friday, racking up 14 kills, six blocks and five aces in her team's CIC sweep of East.

The visiting Mustangs, who also got seven kills and 14 assists from Rachel Topf, won 25-14, 25-6, 25-15.

East got four kills apiece from Nadia Frank Macon and Morgan Hill, and Yukina Lofthouse provided 10 digs.

Colony 3, Soldotna 2

Ashley Turcotte's 14 kills, eight digs and three aces helped Colony survive a marathon five-set volleyball battle with visiting Soldotna on Friday.

Colony won 25-27, 25-21, 26-24, 14-25, 15-13.

Brooke Nezaticky added 11 kills, Chelsea Friesen came up with 25 digs, Mack Everett tallied 37 assists and 13 digs and Sophie Hall served four aces for the Knights.
