Anaktuvuk Pass woman charged with importing vodka

A 29-year-old Anaktuvuk Pass woman was arrested this week for bringing 10 bottles of vodka with a street value estimated at $3,000 into her village, according to the North Slope Borough Police Department. Bonnie Lincoln bought and shipped the Monarch vodka from Fairbanks to Anaktuvuk Pass, police said. The local-option community just north of the Brooks Range bans the sale, importation and possession of alcoholic beverages.

A joint investigation involving police department officers and detectives resulted in the seizure of the vodka on Tuesday.

Lincoln was charged with importing alcoholic beverages into a local option area as well as a probation violation, police said.
