GeoNorth launches new division

GeoNorth has launched an entire new division, enabling the firm with full space-based satellite tasking and imagery capture capabilities of both optical and radar low, medium, and high resolution imagery. Although our virtual capabilities are in effect right now, we are in the process of constructing a world class Direct Receiving Station (DRS), or image downlink facility at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In essence, GeoNorth will become one of very few downlink facilities in the world capable of tasking an entire constellation of satellites, receiving this data, processing it with full processing capabilities, and distributing the data to commercial and government clients. GeoNorth will be the only company in the world with the combined attributes of Small Business, 8(a), Minority ownership, and Multiple-Satellite DRS. The website and press release links below will further outline our entire capabilities with regards to this new unit.

Our longer term vision involves the creation of a state-of-the-art data center, and Center of Excellence, feeding an educational curriculum focused on remote sensing imagery, and a jobs creation program designed to educate and retain talent in the State of Alaska.
