Letter: Who thinks about the public good?

Has anyone ever thought that while our politically elected folks in the Senate and House of (supposed) Representatives are posturing and holding certain bills and programs hostage that maybe we would become vulnerable to some outside enemy if the government “shuts down” all those services? We are therefore weaker and could possibly be more easily attacked. Does anyone ever think of that instead of what is best for their political party?

Whatever happened to thinking about what’s good for our country?

Whatever happened to thinking about what’s good for we the people?

If there were even half the effort put into working to make the new health care program better than is now being expended trying to kill it, we would all benefit. And remember the government shutdown in 1996 cost over $2 billion! That was $2 billion wasted!
