Seriously? Hey, it's 10 a.m. -- ain't gonna be no live blogging. You insane?
It's coffee and a muffin for The Blog, who is down here at Ben Boeke Arena, where the first day of Alaska Aces training camp just dropped (and the puck split in half, because it's about 4 degrees in this joint).
Besides, in the immortal, exasperated words of Allen Iverson: "We're talking about practice.''
In any event, the club released its training-camp roster today -- it will be at the bottom of this here post -- and it features 27 people (14 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goalies).
Among them is defenseman Corey Syvret, who the ECHL club today announced is back. Syvret last season played 32 regular-season games (1-17--18 and +10) for the Aces and 11 in the playoffs (0-0--0 and even), and got extended time (11 games) with Toronto of the AHL.
No sign on the roster of returning goaltender Mark Guggenberger, who has been in training camp with the AHL Iowa Wild. (UPDATE: Guggenberger was released by Iowa on Thursday, so he's headed here).
Couple late additions in forwards Ross Ring-Jarvi and Casey Mignone.
Ring-Jarvi played in Norway last season for the Tonsberg Vikings and logged 21-16--37 totals in 43 games. He played college pucks at Division III Adolphus Gustavus in Minnesota, going 46-84--130 in 115 games.
Mignone split last season between the Augusta RiverHawks of the Southern Professional Hockey League (10-15--25 in 40) and the Cape Cod Bluefins of the Federal Hockey League (feel free to make a gratuitous Reg Dunlop reference), where he went 6-13--19 in 15 games.
Local goalie Micah Perletti is in camp again to help out.
Here's the fellas:
Goalies -- Gerald Coleman, Laurent Brossoit, Micah Perletti.
