Alaska State Troopers say foul play is not suspected in the deaths of two men whose bodies were found on separate days in Wasilla and Big Lake. The deaths are not apparently connected, troopers said.
Troopers identified the dead men as Shane Pickens, 41, of Wasilla and Daniel Razo, 59, of Anchorage.
A Wasilla homeowner on Friday found the body of Pickens, a 41-year-old Wasilla man missing since September, troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen said Thursday. Pickens had permission to live in a garden shed on the Pioneer Peak Drive property, Ipsen said. He had apparently been dead for some time.
Pickens was reported missing by his girlfriend and last seen on Sept. 3, she said. Troopers have not determined a cause of death.
Razo's body was discovered after a Big Lake homeowner on Sunday reported a man lying in a ditch near the end of his Knapp Road driveway, troopers said. Troopers and Mat-Su medics responded and confirmed that Razo was dead. The State Medical Examiner's Office responded.
