UAA's opening-night lines: Thomas goes with 11 and 7

Doyle Woody,Adn Staff

Check out first-year coach Matt Thomas getting all coachy in his debut as UAA bench boss -- instead of the traditional complement of dressing 12 fowards and six defenseman, he's going with 11 and seven against Quinnipiac in the Kendall Hockey Classic at Sullivan Arena.

Dressing seven D gives Thomas some flexibility -- the thought here is that sophomore Blake Leask can get some power-play time and sophomore Chris Williams can lend a physical presence.

Five rookies in the lineup, four at forward.

Here's the 11 forwards:

Allen-Tatchell-Dusyk

Kwas-Bailey-Pettitt

Rassell-Cameron-Hubbs

Friesen-Roy

And here's the seven D"

Docken-Leask

Sproule-Van Allen

Sevalrud-Coldwell

Williams

And Rob Gunderson gets the start in goal, with Michael Matyas the backup.
