Hailey Hakala rushed for two touchdowns, racing 62 yards for one of them, to key South's 22-7 Cook Inlet Conference flag football victory over Service in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Hakala's long run and Julia Carmack's 8-yard touchdown run helped the Wolverines to a 14-0 halftime lead. Sarah Lundgren scored both PATs, running for one and catching a Carmack pass for the other.
Hakala scored on a 22-yard run in the second half.
The South defense delivered two points with a safety and forced a turnover with an interception by Carmack.
South (10-4) will be the No. 2 seed in the CIC playoffs, which begin Monday with four games. Service shares third place with Chugiak and West; all finished with 6-8 records.
East 13, Bartlett 0
Sierra Rosenzweig made two big catches — one offensively, one defensively — to power East past Bartlett 13-0 in a CIC regular-season finale at Chugiak.
Rosenzweig collected a 50-yard pass from quarterback Anna Salio for her first touchdown. Then she returned an interception 80 yards for her second score.
