Police hadn't determined the woman's identity as of Saturday afternoon. She was described as an Alaska Native in her 20s. According to police, the driver and witnesses said the woman abruptly appeared in the lane of the highway.

Medics transported her to Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corp. and she was flown to Anchorage to treat what police described as serious injuries.
