The hits kept coming Saturday for the red-hot UAA volleyball team.
The Seawolves put on an offensive show in Fairbanks to run their conference record to 7-0 with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-10 triumph over UAF.
The win, their seventh in a row, moved the Seawolves to 13-6 overall and kept them undefeated in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
UAA hit better than .450 percent in the match, with all six hitters shining.
"Offensively, we were very, very good," coach Chris Green said. "It was an incredible performance by us offensively.
"... We distributed the ball pretty well. All our hitters got set quite a bit and all hit well, all six of them."
Green said he never would have predicted that the Seawolves would open the GNAC season with a 7-0 run, especially since that stretch included a road series against Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene. "I thought that would be a really tough road trip," he said.
UAA faces a truly challenging road trip this week when it plays games at Simon Fraser on Thursday and Western Washington on Saturday. Western Washington is ranked ninth in the nation in NCAA Division II and is 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the GNAC. UAA and Western are the conference's only undefeated teams.
"We're trying to build to a big showdown with Western," Green said.
