Wine of the week: 2010 Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2010 Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon Napa County delivers convincing cabernet sauvignon flavors and aromas at a fraction of the Napa pricing. With the winemaking/owner team of Aaron Pott and Joseph Carr, one would expect nothing but the best. This vintage shows good solid aroma volume of "Cabernet Leaf" black currant, cherry and light wood. The mouth is medium weight, fullish and has obvious tannin for a bit of grip and resistance. The overall effect here is a wine of quality that strives to over deliver at its price point. A perfect wine for Friday night, it costs about $18.
