From Marc Lester in Anchorage --

Anchorage Police are investigating a "serious assault" that they say occurred outside the Gaslight Lounge on 4th Avenue during bar break this morning.

"We know that we have someone in critical condition at a hospital," said Anchorage Police Sgt. Slawomir Markiewicz. "We are looking at video evidence, interviewing video witnesses at the station."

APD's mobile investigation vehicle was parked there this morning as police took pictures and conducted interviews. Several puddles of blood could be seen on the blacktop near the Gaslight's back door.

Markiewicz says there were many people in the area at the time of the attack and police are asking anyone with information about what happened to call APD.
