Two men shot at Jewel Lake party and hospitalized, police say

Two men were hospitalized early Sunday after they were both shot at a party in the Jewel Lake area of Anchorage, police said. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries, and no arrests had been made as of Sunday morning, police said.

Police were called to the 3700 block of West 80th Avenue around 2:30 a.m. after reports of multiple gunshots in the area. "Upon arrival, officers discovered two men, both in their early 30s, had each been struck once in the leg," police spokeswoman Dani Myren said in an email.

The shooting happened at what police described as a large party at a residence.

"Several subjects then left the residence before police arrived," Myren said.

Earlier, around 12:30 a.m., an officer had gone to the party and issued a warning after police received complaints about loud music and other noise, Myren said.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
