SATURDAY

Archery 101, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Kincaid Park Annex Bunker, Raspberry Road. Have fun learning to shoot target archery for free. Youth/adult instruction with emphasis on safety. Open to anyone who is interested. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Come to the wax bunker near the chalet at Kincaid Park. All equipment is supplied by NWA. Feed and Care for farm animals, 1-2:30 p.m., The Learning Farm, 11601 Gander St. Learn what it takes to care for animals. Kids ages 5-14 feed, water, clean pens, bottle feed calves and slop the pigs. Mentorship Leaders Brittany and Shyanne of the Rebel Riders Trick Team work and show proper handling and care. This opportunity allows the trick riders to earn money for trick lessons. $10. COMING up

Zoo Boo, 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31, Alaska Zoo, 4731 O'Malley Road. Treat stations and activities all over the zoo and a bonfire for warming toes. The entire zoo will be decorated in Halloween spirit, so bring your camera to photograph your trick-or-treaters. Buy a warm drink or meal in the coffee shop, or gifts for that special someone in the gift shop. Tickets are $5-$7 and can be purchased online, in advance of the event. (alaskazoo.org)

Little Nordic Ski Club, Kincaid Outdoor Center, 9401 Raspberry Road. A class for children to learn to country ski. No experience is necessary. Choose evening or Saturday practice. Practice locations may change according to snow/weather conditions. Skiers need to provide their own equipment. Parent meetings are held the first meeting of the session. Children must be 4 years old at the start of the session. $50. Session 1 is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 13-Dec. 18 or 1-2 p.m. Nov. 16-Jan. 5.

Anchorage Masters Program, Kincaid Outdoor Center, 9401 Raspberry Road. Alaska Nordic Racing will continue to build on their repertoire of drills, increased level of fitness, and introduce new methods like filming for technique feedback.
