Letter: City budget priorities reflect poorly on the community

The 2014 MOA budget submittal is now out and able to be examined for what it says. I couldn’t help but notice that the proposed budget decreases the property taxes by a small amount. The budget also, among other things, provides for indoor tennis courts in Turnagain … and raises the bus fares.

A majority of bus riders are on the lower end of the wage scale such that they cannot afford the private vehicles that a lot of us have and take for granted. What message does this budget send and what does it say about our community? I will let you be the judge.
